Essentials of Fleet Safety Webinar Series – 5 – Vehicle procurement and maintenance

Thursday 07 November 2019, online, 2pm-3pm GMT

The Essentials of Fleet Safety is a series of five, 60-minute webinars designed to inform champions on the essential elements of running an effective fleet safety programme. The webinars are based upon the five Global Fleet Champion strands: Driver behaviour, Incident analysis and intervention, Vehicle procurement and maintenance, Journey routing and modal choice, and Community outreach.

Each webinar features presentations from industry experts and we use simple technology and graphics to ensure that they can be accessed easily, even where internet bandwidth is weak.

The fifth webinar in the series focuses on vehicle procurement and maintenance.

When buying, hiring or leasing new vehicles, it is essential that fleet managers make safety their primary consideration and introduce the safest vehicles available into their fleet within the constraints of their budgets. This means choosing vehicles with systems that can help prevent crashes from occurring or reduce the likelihood of death or injury if a crash does occur.

Vehicles must also be maintained to high safety standards, usually stipulated by the manufacturer. This means having vehicles checked at an appropriate and stipulated frequency and for the checking to be carried out by people qualified to do the task.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • the key elements of safe vehicle purchasing and replacement procedures;
  • about the importance of ongoing vehicle maintenance; and
  • the daily checks drivers can undertake to identify any problems with their vehicles before driving them.

Who should attend?
